The events that occurred the weekend of November 22, 1963, are perhaps the most memorable and shocking to generations of Americans. The assassination of the President of the United States, and the subsequent murder on live television of his alleged assassin, defied logic and set into motion nearly fifty years of debate about what really happened that fateful weekend in Dallas. Hundreds, if not thousands, of so-called conspiracy theorists, or assassination researchers, have emerged throughout the decades, each presenting his own idea of what occurred. Edwards has spent nearly 35 years reading books, articles, and any other available assassination-related materials; he has carefully reviewed the Zapruder film; and he has conducted first-hand interviews of numerous witnesses who were there that day, thoroughly chronicling their many interesting stories and unique perspectives. While Edwards believes that there was a conspiracy surrounding the assassination of the president and the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, in this book he looks at the events a little differently than most—not focusing on who was where and when, but rather in relating the stories of the many people he met along the way. The book is at times humorous, sarcastic, and opinionated as it takes the reader with the author on his long journey—a journey that culminates in Edwards’ becoming one of the most well-known researchers of the JFK assassination.

I have long been fascinated by the JFK assassination, and will read anything associated with it. I bought this book because it seemed different, and the book is highly interesting. But the book really needed an editor. The author detailing the various places connected to Lee Harvey Oswald and the assassination in Dallas is a different slant on the endless books detailing who did or did not shoot Kennedy.Peteja states throughout the book how fascinated he has always been by the JFK assassination, and the various items he owns connected the event. But I don't quite understand how someone who has been immersed in the crime for over 35 years can repeatedly spell Arlen Specter's name as "Spector." or Parkland doctor Robert McClelland as "McClellan." I am not trying to be overly critical, but there are just so many examples of things like that in the book.On another note, the author's description of his seven interactions with Marina Oswald Porter is interesting reading.At 169 pages with lots of pictures, the book is a quick read that can easily be completed in one sitting.
